Curry and Vegetables

  • Vermont Curry (solid form) 2 blocks
  • Total water 300ml
  • Carrot 1/4
  • Onion 1/4
  • Butter 1 piece
  • Pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, melt 1 piece of butter in a pot over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the finely chopped carrot and onion. Sauté them over low heat for about 10 minutes until they become tender and slightly softened, being careful not to burn them. Cooking the vegetables thoroughly until soft is key to developing a deep curry flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Transfer the sautéed vegetables to a blender and add 100ml of water. Blend until you achieve a smooth purée. This step is crucial for creating a velvety smooth curry sauce, so ensure there are no lumps remaining.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, pour the blended vegetable mixture and another 100ml of water into the pot. Bring it to a simmer over medium-low heat, then reduce the heat and let it cook, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 3

Step 4

While the curry is simmering, cut the fish cakes into bite-sized pieces, such as cubes or triangles. Add the cut fish cakes to the simmering curry. Then, add the 2 blocks of solid curry. Stir continuously until the curry blocks have completely dissolved without any lumps.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the curry has thickened and the fish cakes are cooked, add the remaining 100ml of water to adjust the consistency to your liking. Aim for your preferred thickness. Finally, season with a pinch of black pepper, if desired. Your special fish cake curry, just like in the movie, is now complete! Enjoy this comforting dish.
