Flavorful Avocado Shrimp Open Sandwich: A Delicious Recipe
How to Make Avocado Shrimp Open Sandwich: A Delightful Avocado Recipe
I recently bought 3 ripe avocados and let them ripen further. Making avocado dishes like this open-faced sandwich was incredibly delicious. The creamy texture of the avocado paired with succulent shrimp, enhanced by aromatic herbs and smoked paprika, creates a wonderfully satisfying meal that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch.
Main Ingredients- 2 slices of Sourdough bread (or your favorite bread)
- 1/2 ripe Avocado
- 6 Cocktail shrimp (peeled and deveined)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thaw the frozen cocktail shrimp by soaking them in water. Pat them dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the shrimp with 1 Tbsp olive oil, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, and a pinch of smoked paprika. Mix well and let it marinate for about 10 minutes. This step significantly enhances the shrimp’s flavor.
Step 2
Once the avocado is perfectly ripe and soft, cut it in half, remove the pit, peel it, and slice it into approximately 0.5cm thick pieces. Be gentle to avoid breaking the slices.
Step 3
Lightly brush both sides of the bread slices with olive oil. Toast them in a pan or a toaster until golden brown and crisp. A crunchy base provides a wonderful contrast to the creamy toppings.
Step 4
Heat the remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and are cooked through. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become tough.
Step 5
Arrange the sliced avocado artfully on top of the toasted bread. Then, place the cooked shrimp over the avocado. Drizzle the remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil over everything and sprinkle with parsley flakes. Your delicious Avocado Shrimp Open Sandwich is now ready to be enjoyed! For an extra touch of freshness, a squeeze of lemon juice can be added.
