  • 6-7 large frozen Black Tiger shrimp
  • 2 bowls cooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1 piece butter (approx. 10g)
  • 3-4 large cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp oyster sauce

Cooking Instructions

First, roughly mince the garlic or slice it thinly. Peel the shrimp and, if they are very large, cut them into bite-sized pieces (2-3 segments each) for easier eating.

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the grapeseed oil and the piece of butter. Let the butter melt and combine with the oil. Be careful not to let the butter burn.

Once the butter and oil are melted, add the minced garlic. Sauté over medium-low heat, stirring gently, until the garlic becomes fragrant and turns a light golden brown, being careful not to burn it. Sautéed garlic adds a wonderful depth of flavor.

When the garlic aroma is released, add the prepared shrimp to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Avoid overcooking the shrimp, as they can become tough.

When the shrimp are almost cooked, add the 2 bowls of cooked rice to the pan. Sprinkle the salt (1/2 tsp) and oyster sauce (1/2 Tbsp) evenly over the rice. Use a spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry, ensuring all ingredients are well combined. Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the rice grains are separated and the sauce is evenly distributed. Your delicious fried rice is ready!
