  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Hello everyone! Today, I’ll show you how to make a wonderfully fragrant seasoned wild chive salad, packed with the freshness of spring. It’s like bringing the essence of spring right to your dining table.

Step 2

First, wash the wild chives thoroughly under running water. Make sure to clean the roots well to remove any dirt. After washing, drain them well in a colander. If there’s too much water, the seasoning might become diluted. Cut the drained wild chives into bite-sized pieces, about 5-7 cm long. Cutting them too long can make them difficult to eat. Place the cut wild chives into a large bowl.

Step 3

Now it’s time to prepare the seasoning that will make this dish so delicious. Add 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes for a pleasant kick, 1 teaspoon of vinegar for a nice tang, 1 teaspoon of sugar for a touch of sweetness, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil for its nutty aroma, directly onto the wild chives in the bowl.

Step 4

After adding the seasonings, gently mix and toss the ingredients with your hands. Be careful not to over-mix, as this can make the wild chives taste a bit raw. The key is to gently ‘jom-jomal’ (tenderly mix) them to ensure the seasoning coats the chives evenly. Take care to mix them so the seasoning isn’t clumped together and is well distributed.

Step 5

Finally, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top, and your refreshing spring wild chive salad is ready! Isn’t it wonderful how easily we can enjoy the flavors of spring? You can enjoy this immediately as a side dish with rice, or serve it alongside fresh leafy greens for a delightful meal.
