Ingredients
  • 2 ripe, fully mature tomatoes
  • 1/2 Tbsp oligodang (oligosaccharide syrup) or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil (enhances flavor and aids nutrient absorption)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 2 ripe, fully mature tomatoes for the best flavor. Wash them thoroughly under running water. Then, make shallow cross-shaped incisions on the skin at the top of each tomato. This step is to help peel the tomatoes easily.

Step 2

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, carefully place the incised tomatoes into the water for about 10 seconds. Avoid boiling them for too long, as this can make them mushy and affect the juice’s taste. Stick to the recommended time.

Step 3

Immediately transfer the blanched tomatoes to a bowl of cold water to quickly cool them down. This helps preserve their fresh texture. Once cooled, gently peel off the skin starting from the incised part. The skin should come off very easily.

Step 4

Cut the peeled tomatoes in half. Then, carefully remove the tough core or stem part from the center of each tomato half. Removing this core is recommended as it can affect the texture or taste of the juice.

Step 5

Place the prepared tomatoes into a blender. Add 1/2 tablespoon of oligodang or honey for sweetness, and 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, which helps with nutrient absorption and adds a subtle richness. Secure the blender lid tightly and blend until smooth. Your fresh and delicious homemade tomato juice is ready! Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
