  • 2 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1/2 Tbsp fish sauce (myeolchi aekjeot)
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp plum extract (maesil cheong)

  • A little sesame oil
  • 1 bowl cooked rice
  • 150g sea squirt meat
  • 2 eggs
  • A little cooking oil
  • A little shredded seaweed (gim)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Finely chop the washed and drained fresh young radish into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm). In a bowl, combine the chopped radish with gochugaru, fish sauce, vinegar, minced garlic, and plum extract. Gently mix by hand to season the radish, ensuring you maintain its crisp texture – avoid overmixing. Finally, add toasted sesame seeds and a little sesame oil, and mix lightly.

Step 2

Fry the eggs in a pan with a little cooking oil until the yolks are slightly runny, then set aside. Prepare the fresh sea squirt meat by cleaning and trimming it into bite-sized pieces. (For convenience, you can purchase pre-cleaned sea squirt from seafood markets or grocery stores.)

Step 2

Step 3

Place a generous serving of warm cooked rice into a deep bowl. Artfully arrange the seasoned fresh young radish on top of the rice. Add the fried egg and prepared sea squirt meat alongside the radish. Sprinkle shredded seaweed (gim) over the top for added color and flavor.

Step 4

Finish by sprinkling more toasted sesame seeds as desired. Your vibrant and refreshing Young Radish Bibimbap is now complete! Mix everything together and enjoy this delicious meal.
