Main Ingredients

  • 1/4 carrot
  • 1/4 zucchini
  • 1/4 ham (or your preferred protein)
  • 1.5 bowls cooked rice
  • 2 sheets of kimbap seaweed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the carrot and zucchini thoroughly and finely dice them. Dice the ham into similar-sized pieces. Lightly oil a frying pan and add the diced carrot, zucchini, and ham. Stir-fry over medium heat until the vegetables are slightly tender. Once the vegetables are partially cooked, add the warm cooked rice, oyster sauce, and a little sesame oil. Stir-fry to combine all ingredients evenly. Continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes until the rice grains are separated and the seasoning is well distributed.

Step 2

Place a sheet of kimbap seaweed on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread the fried rice thinly over the seaweed, leaving a small border along the top edge. It’s important not to make the rice layer too thick, as it will be difficult to roll. Use the bamboo mat to roll the kimbap tightly, ensuring the filling doesn’t burst out. Start by rolling with a slight pull, then press firmly as you complete the roll.

Step 3

Now it’s time to slice the kimbap beautifully. Before slicing, brush the outside of the kimbap with a little sesame oil for a glossy finish and an appealing look. Lightly moisten your knife with water or sesame oil to prevent the rice from sticking, allowing for clean cuts. Slice the kimbap into bite-sized pieces (about 2 cm thick) to complete the dish. Slice them into pretty shapes that kids will enjoy!
