Garlicky Shrimp Butter Roast: A Golden Recipe
Super Simple Garlic Shrimp Butter Roast Recipe / Shrimp Dish
After making fried shrimp for the kids, I decided to whip up a quick and elegant ‘Garlic Shrimp Butter Roast’ with the leftover shrimp. ^^ It’s simple to make but looks impressive once prepared. Adding Vietnamese chili peppers gives it a slightly spicy kick, making it a great recipe for a light beer snack. This dish is a delightful way to enjoy shrimp with its savory butter and garlic flavors.
Ingredients- Shrimp 198g (peeled and deveined)
- Button mushrooms 5 (cleaned)
- Whole garlic cloves 5 (thinly sliced)
- Chicory or baby greens a little (optional, for freshness)
- Dried Vietnamese chili peppers 4 (or peperoncino, adjust to spice preference)
Seasoning- Butter 1/2 Tbsp
- Olive oil 1 Tbsp
- White wine 2 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Butter 1/2 Tbsp
- Olive oil 1 Tbsp
- White wine 2 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the 5 whole garlic cloves. Slicing them thinly helps release their aromatic oils into the butter and oil as they cook.
Step 2
Make a shallow cut along the back (top side) of each shrimp. This helps the shrimp cook evenly and present beautifully, allowing the sauce to coat them nicely.
Step 3
Cut the 5 button mushrooms into large, bite-sized pieces, about four wedges each. They’ll add a lovely texture to the dish.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add 1 Tbsp of olive oil and 1/2 Tbsp of butter. Once the butter has melted and is slightly foamy, add the sliced garlic and Vietnamese chili peppers. Sauté gently until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it. This step infuses the oil with delicious flavors.
Step 5
Once the garlic and chili peppers have released their aroma, add the prepared shrimp to the pan. Sauté quickly until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking, as shrimp can become tough.
Step 6
Add the cut button mushrooms to the pan with the shrimp. Continue to sauté until the mushrooms are tender and have absorbed some of the flavors.
Step 7
Pour in 2 Tbsp of white wine and stir, allowing the alcohol to evaporate for about 30 seconds. Season with salt to taste, and finish with a sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper. Stir everything together to ensure the sauce coats all the ingredients.
Step 8
Serve the Garlic Shrimp Butter Roast immediately. For a beautiful presentation and a refreshing contrast, arrange it on a plate with fresh chicory or other baby greens, and perhaps some fruit. Enjoy your delicious creation!
