Gentle Crab Stick and Vegetable Stir-fry for Babies
Easy Baby Food Recipe! Crab Stick and Vegetable Stir-fry
Here’s a recipe for a soft and delicious crab stick and vegetable stir-fry, perfect for your baby’s mealtime. This nutritious side dish is great from the later stages of pureed food to toddler meals, offering a simple yet tasty option.
Main Ingredients- 70g imitation crab sticks (kani)
- 70g zucchini
- 40g onion
- 20g carrot
- 100ml water or clear vegetable broth
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently shred the imitation crab sticks along their natural lines. Aim for pieces that are not too large for your baby to handle. Wash the zucchini, carrot, and onion thoroughly, then cut them into thin, long strips suitable for your baby. You can adjust the size of the vegetable strips based on your baby’s age and chewing ability.
Step 2
Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the prepared zucchini and carrot strips and stir-fry them. This recipe doesn’t use cooking oil, making it a healthier option. The key is to sauté the vegetables to bring out their natural moisture and sweetness.
Step 3
Once the zucchini starts to soften slightly, add the sliced onion and continue to stir-fry together. When the onion begins to turn translucent, carefully pour in the 100ml of water or clear vegetable broth. Maintain a medium-low heat on the stove to cook gently. This method prevents the vegetables from burning and ensures they cook through evenly and remain moist.
Step 4
After adding the water (or broth), wait a moment, then add the shredded imitation crab sticks. Crab sticks cook very quickly, so they don’t need to be stir-fried for a long time. Gently mix everything together to combine as it cooks.
Step 5
Once the liquid has reduced to a simmer and all the ingredients are tender, turn off the stove. Let the stir-fry cool down slightly. Transfer it to a clean container once it reaches a suitable temperature for your baby to eat. If needed, you can finely chop the mixture to suit your baby’s developmental stage.
