First, prepare 10 fresh, ripe, and fully-ripened tomatoes. Choose ones with smooth skin and a deep color.

Carefully remove the tough stem ends from the tomatoes. Wash them thoroughly under running water and gently pat dry. Since you’ll be blending them with the skin, a thorough wash is essential.

Place the washed tomatoes in a pot, adding just enough water to cover them halfway. Add a small pinch of salt (about half a small teaspoon) to the water. Adding a little salt helps the tomato skins loosen more easily.

Once the water begins to boil, add the tomatoes and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until their skins start to wrinkle and slightly split. Avoid overcooking, as this can diminish the fresh tomato flavor.

Drain the softened tomatoes using a colander. Once they’ve cooled slightly, use tongs or your fingers to peel off the skins. They should slip off easily, much like peeling fruit, once they’ve cooled just enough to handle.

Place the peeled tomatoes into a blender, along with a small amount of the reserved tomato-cooking water. Adjust the amount of water to achieve your desired consistency – add it gradually. If your blender is small, processing the tomatoes in batches will result in a smoother juice.
