Ingredients

  • 2 packets of Jin Jjamppong
  • 4 fresh shrimp
  • 1 handful of cleaned squid (approx. 100g)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 handful of chopped green onions
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 handfuls of fresh bean sprouts (approx. 50g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Among instant Jjamppong brands, Jin Jjamppong stands out with its liquid soup base, which contributes to a richer broth flavor without needing extra seasonings. We’ll leverage this quality for an even more special Jjamppong.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a wok or deep pan over medium-high heat and add 2 Tbsp of olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic and chopped green onions until fragrant. Then, add the prepared onion, shrimp, and squid. Stir-fry over high heat until the ingredients turn slightly translucent. Be careful not to overcook the seafood, as it can become tough.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the onions are translucent, add all the seasoning packets (powder, dried ingredients, and liquid base) from the Jin Jjamppong package to the pan. Stir-fry with the seafood for about 1 minute. Sautéing the seasonings enhances the ingredients’ flavors and deepens the broth’s taste. Pour in approximately 800ml of water (refer to product instructions) and bring to a boil over high heat.

Step 3

Step 4

When the broth is boiling vigorously, add the Jin Jjamppong noodles. Gently separate the noodles with chopsticks to prevent sticking. Cook until the noodles are al dente (about 3.5 to 4 minutes). Once the noodles reach your desired texture, crack an egg directly into the boiling broth and immediately turn off the heat. This method keeps the broth clear while adding a creamy element from the egg.

Step 4

Step 5

Transfer the cooked noodles to a large serving bowl. Ladle the hot Jjamppong broth generously over the noodles. Arrange the pre-sautéed shrimp and squid, along with the cooked egg, attractively on top of the noodles.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, top with a generous handful of fresh, crisp bean sprouts. Your delicious Jin Jjamppong is now ready to serve! Enjoy this restaurant-quality Jjamppong at home while it’s piping hot.
