Gourmet Korean Beef Bulgogi Burger
Homemade Luxury Korean Beef Tteokgalbi Burger Recipe (feat. Bulgogi Burger) – The Golden Recipe
While lounging on the sofa watching TV, Mom saw a hamburger commercial and exclaimed, ‘Wow, that burger looks delicious! I want one!’ This simple wish sparked my idea: ‘How about I make one for you?’ I decided to use the delicious handmade tteokgalbi (Korean grilled short ribs patty) I bought from Lee Su Korean Beef after our last meal there. This recipe transforms it into a luxurious, flavorful burger that’s perfect for a special treat!
Burger Ingredients- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp Tonkatsu Sauce (Japanese pork cutlet sauce)
- 1/6 Onion, thinly sliced
- 2 leaves Cabbage, thinly sliced
- 8 Pickles, drained and sliced
- 2 slices Bread (or burger buns)
- Tteokgalbi (handmade Korean short rib patties), 1-2 pieces, ready to be grilled
- Optional additions: Green vegetables (lettuce, baby greens, etc.)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all your burger ingredients meticulously. Lightly toast the bread slices on a dry pan until golden brown on both sides. Ensure the pickles are well-drained by placing them in a sieve. Grill the tteokgalbi patties on a heated pan until they are nicely browned on both sides. (You can also use bulgogi instead of tteokgalbi for a different, delicious flavor!)
Step 2
Wash the cabbage and onion thoroughly, then slice them into thin strips. In a bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and onion with the tonkatsu sauce and mix well. If you prefer a bit of spice, feel free to add a dash of hot sauce or sriracha.
Step 3
Spread a thin, even layer of mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice. On the other side of one slice, generously pile the cabbage salad that has been tossed with tonkatsu sauce.
Step 4
Now, layer the sliced pickles onto the bread, followed by the nicely grilled tteokgalbi patty. For an even more decadent burger, consider adding cheese, a fried egg, fresh tomato slices, or any other toppings you love!
Step 5
Your delicious Korean Beef Tteokgalbi Burger is now complete! It looks incredibly appetizing and promises a rich, satisfying taste.
Step 6
For an even more enjoyable burger experience, consider using soft morning rolls or classic hamburger buns instead of regular bread slices. The choice of bread can offer a different delightful texture and flavor profile.
Step 7
You can enjoy your burger right away, or for a neater eating experience, wrap it tightly in parchment paper and then slice it in half. This prevents the fillings from spilling out. Enjoy your homemade burger!
