Main Ingredients

  • 100g Pork Neck (or other fatty cut)
  • 1/2 medium Onion
  • 1/3 Bell Pepper (use assorted colors for visual appeal)
  • 1/3 medium Carrot

Seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the pork neck. Cook until golden brown. If excess oil is released, you can gently dab it with paper towels for a cleaner stir-fry.

Step 1

Step 2

While the pork is cooking, prepare your vegetables. Finely chop the bell pepper, carrot, and onion into pieces similar in size to the rice grains for a pleasant texture.

Step 2

Step 3

When the pork is about half-cooked, carefully remove it from the pan. Dice it into pieces roughly the same size as the chopped vegetables. This step helps to keep the pork tender and prevents it from becoming tough.

Step 3

Step 4

Return the diced pork to the frying pan and continue to stir-fry. It’s best to cook over medium heat at this stage to avoid burning and ensure the pork cooks nicely.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the pork is adequately cooked, add all the chopped vegetables to the pan. Stir-fry them with the pork until the vegetables are tender and slightly softened.

Step 5

Step 6

When the vegetables are about halfway cooked, add your cooked rice to the pan. Use a spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry everything together until well combined.

Step 6

Step 7

After the rice and vegetables are evenly mixed, pour 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce around the edges of the pan. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat all the ingredients and develop a rich flavor.

Step 7

Step 8

Voilà! Your delicious and flavorful oyster sauce fried rice is ready! It’s best enjoyed hot right after cooking.
