Gourmet Salmon Tacos Recipe
Don’t Just Eat Salmon Raw! Make Delicious Salmon Tacos
I absolutely adore salmon, so I often buy it to enjoy as sashimi. One day, inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s steak tacos and the tortillas I had at home, I decided to create my own unique salmon tacos! This recipe combines the fresh, tender salmon with crisp vegetables and a zesty wasabi mayo sauce, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. It’s a delightful way to elevate your meal.
Main Ingredients- 250g fresh salmon (cut into bite-sized pieces suitable for tacos)
- 1/4 small napa cabbage (or regular cabbage)
- Tortillas (as many as you like)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
★ Prepare the Fresh Vegetables: First, wash the napa cabbage (or regular cabbage) thoroughly. Then, finely shred it into pieces that will be pleasant to eat in a taco. The thinner the shred, the better it will absorb the dressing and taste. Let it sit after shredding.
Step 2
★ Make the Flavorful Cabbage Salad: In a bowl, combine the finely shredded cabbage with 4 tablespoons of sesame oil, 6 tablespoons of vinegar, and 3 tablespoons of red pepper flakes. Mix well until everything is evenly coated. This creates a tangy and slightly spicy dressing that pairs wonderfully with salmon. Let it marinate for a few minutes.
Step 3
★ Create the Zesty Wasabi Mayo Sauce: In a small bowl, mix 1.5 tablespoons of wasabi paste with 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise until smooth. This creates a special sauce with the pungent kick of wasabi and the creamy richness of mayonnaise, which will enhance the overall flavor of your tacos. Adjust the amount of wasabi to your preference.
Step 4
★ Toast the Tortillas to Perfection: Heat a dry frying pan over medium heat. Place a tortilla in the pan and cook for about 40 seconds per side until lightly golden and slightly crispy. Once warm, wrap the tortilla around a cylindrical tool (like a wooden spoon or chopsticks) for about 20 seconds to help it hold its taco shape. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become brittle.
Step 5
★ Prepare the Fresh Salmon: Slice the fresh salmon into bite-sized pieces that are easy to place in the tacos. Try to cut them to a thickness that complements the tortilla and other fillings, not too thick.
Step 6
★ Assemble and Enjoy Your Delicious Salmon Tacos: Now it’s time to assemble your gourmet salmon tacos! Spread a thin layer of the wasabi mayo sauce onto the warm, shaped tortilla. Next, generously top with the dressed cabbage mixture. Finally, arrange the fresh salmon pieces on top. Drizzle a little more wasabi mayo sauce over the salmon. Your visually appealing and incredibly tasty salmon tacos are now ready to be enjoyed!
