Ingredients- 1 Tbsp Doenjang (fermented soybean paste)
- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (red chili paste)
- 1.5 Tbsp Honey
- 0.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 0.5 Onion, finely minced
- 0.5 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Perilla Oil (Deulgireum)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of doenjang and 1 tablespoon of gochujang in a 1:1 ratio. The balance between these two base pastes is key to the ssamjang’s flavor.
Step 2
Next, add 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic for aroma, 1.5 tablespoons of honey for sweetness, and the finely minced portion of 0.5 onion for a refreshing crunch and subtle sweetness. Prepare to mix all these ingredients.
Step 3
Finally, stir in 0.5 tablespoon of sesame seeds for a nutty flavor and 1 tablespoon of perilla oil for its smooth, rich aroma, mixing everything thoroughly until well combined. Transfer the finished ssamjang to a beautiful serving dish to complete a delightful meal alongside your samgyeopsal.
