Healthy Zucchini Noodle Spaghetti for Diet
Zucchini Noodle Spaghetti Recipe | Diet Spaghetti | Diet Recipe
A perfect recipe for a light meal, this diet-friendly zucchini noodle spaghetti is a healthy alternative to traditional pasta. Using fresh zucchini noodles significantly reduces carbohydrate intake while boosting your vegetable consumption.
Main Ingredients
- 1 medium zucchini
- 1 medium onion
- About 1/2 cup store-bought spaghetti sauce (or adjust to your preference)
- 2-3 strips of bacon (optional, for added flavor)
- A pinch of dried basil
- A pinch of garlic powder
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the zucchini thoroughly and trim off both ends. Using a spiralizer or a julienne peeler, create noodle-like strands from the zucchini. If you don’t have a spiralizer, you can thinly peel the zucchini with a vegetable peeler to achieve a noodle-like shape.
Step 2
Peel and thinly slice the onion. If using bacon, cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 cm). Heat about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a medium-sized pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bacon, and sauté for about 3-5 minutes, until the onion becomes translucent and the bacon is lightly browned.
Step 3
Pour the store-bought spaghetti sauce into the pan with the sautéed onions and bacon. Stir in the dried basil, garlic powder, and black pepper according to your taste. Let the sauce simmer for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it slightly thickens. Finally, add the prepared zucchini noodles to the pan. Gently toss everything together for 1-2 minutes, ensuring the noodles are coated with the sauce. Be careful not to overcook the zucchini noodles, as they can become mushy. Serve the zucchini noodle spaghetti warm and enjoy your healthy meal!
