Heart-Shaped Rolled Omelet
How to Make a Charming Heart-Shaped Rolled Omelet
Wondering what to make for lunch? I decided to try this heart-shaped rolled omelet! It’s a delightful way to add a touch of sweetness to your meal.
Ingredients for the Colorful Rolled Omelet- A small bunch of chives
- A small bunch of minari (water dropwort)
- 5 fresh eggs
- 1 small piece of sausage
- 1 small piece of carrot
- 1 small piece of onion
- 2 Tbsp grapeseed oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
1. Crack 5 eggs into a bowl. Finely chop the chives, minari, sausage, carrot, and onion, then add them to the beaten eggs. Finely dicing the vegetables ensures even cooking and a beautiful appearance within the omelet.
Step 2
2. A medium-sized frying pan is ideal for making this rolled omelet. A pan that’s too small will make rolling difficult, while one that’s too large will result in a thin omelet that doesn’t hold its shape well.
Step 3
3. Heat the frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil and swirl to coat the pan, allowing it to preheat. Once the oil is hot, pour in the egg mixture and spread it thinly and evenly across the pan. Gentle heat control is key, so start with medium heat.
Step 4
4. Slightly tilt the pan so that the heat is concentrated on the side where you’ll begin rolling the omelet. Start by cooking the egg over medium-high heat to set the bottom quickly. As you start to roll, gradually reduce the heat to medium, then low. This prevents burning and ensures a tender result. Adjusting the heat based on how quickly the egg cooks is important.
Step 5
5. Once the layer of egg starts to set, carefully begin rolling it from one side. As the omelet cooks, continue adding more egg mixture and rolling it up. Using two spatulas simultaneously can be very helpful in achieving a neat and firm roll. Instead of rolling from just one side, gently shape it from both sides as you go.
Step 6
6. Add the remaining egg mixture to the pan in 3 to 4 additions, continuing to roll the omelet each time. By spreading thinly and rolling repeatedly, you’ll create a thick and appealing rolled omelet.
Step 7
7. Now it’s time to perfect the shape. Use two spatulas to stand the rolled omelet on its side and shape its edges. Gently roll the omelet on all four sides in the pan to ensure it’s cooked through and has a uniform shape. Repeating this shaping process 5 to 6 times will result in a firm, well-defined omelet.
Step 8
Shaping the omelet by standing it on its side and rotating.
Step 9
Doesn’t it look firm and beautifully rolled?
Step 10
8. Before transferring the finished omelet to a cutting board, gently dab away any excess oil with a paper towel. This removes greasiness for a cleaner finish and allows the omelet to cool slightly, making it easier to slice without breaking.
Step 11
9. Now it’s time to slice the omelet. To create the heart shape, hold your knife at a slight angle, leaning it gently to the left, and slice. Slice in the direction indicated by the arrow. Maintaining a consistent angle is key.
Step 12
10. To form the heart, take the right-hand slice and flip it over to face the previously cut slice. Slice the remaining omelet perpendicular to the cut surface (without tilting the knife). Then, flip the right-hand piece so it faces the left-hand piece, revealing the beautiful heart shape.
Step 13
11. And just like that, you’ll have a lovely heart-shaped rolled omelet that’s as delightful to look at as it is to eat!
Step 14
Enjoy your ‘heart rolled omelet,’ which will beautifully decorate your dining table!
