Main Ingredients- 1 sheet of sushi nori (seaweed)
- 1 bowl of warm cooked rice
- 1 cup of dried inari sushi tofu pouches
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- A handful of fresh baby greens
Inari Braising Sauce- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar (or allulose)
- 2 Tbsp water
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar (or allulose)
- 2 Tbsp water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the avocado. Peel the avocado, remove the pit, and slice it thinly (about 0.5cm thick) so it fits well inside the sushi roll. Be careful not to handle the avocado too roughly if it’s very ripe.
Step 2
Let’s make the delicious braising sauce for the inari. In a small pot, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar (or allulose), and 2 Tbsp water. Mix well. Once the sauce comes to a boil, add the prepared inari tofu pouches. Simmer over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to be absorbed evenly. Stirring occasionally will help them cook evenly.
Step 3
Prepare the sushi rice. In a bowl of warm rice, add a pinch of salt, 1 tsp sesame oil, and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. Gently mix with a spatula to season. Be careful not to overmix, as this can mash the rice grains. Place a sheet of sushi nori on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread the seasoned rice thinly and evenly over the nori, leaving about a 1cm border at the top edge without rice. This helps seal the roll.
Step 4
Now it’s time to add the fillings. Arrange the braised inari tofu pouches neatly over the rice. Next, layer the thinly sliced avocado over the inari. Finally, add a moderate amount of fresh baby greens for color and a refreshing crunch.
Step 5
Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi tightly so the fillings don’t spill out. Lightly moisten the top edge of the nori with water to seal the roll securely. Slice the completed sushi roll into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm thick) and arrange them attractively on a plate. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for an extra nutty flavor. Your delicious Avocado Inari Sushi Rolls are now ready to be enjoyed!
