  • 2/3 bowl warm cooked rice
  • 100g well-fermented radish kimchi, solids only
  • 1 fresh egg

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the star ingredient: the radish kimchi. Drain the solids from your flavorful radish kimchi and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Cutting them into manageable sizes ensures a pleasant texture in every bite, making it easier to eat.

Step 2

Now, let’s make a delicious and perfectly cooked egg. Lightly coat a frying pan with cooking oil and heat it over medium-low heat. Crack the egg into the pan and cook it to your desired doneness. For a runny yolk, gently break it just before serving; for a well-done egg, cook until the yolk is firm.

Step 3

Transfer the warm, freshly cooked rice into a serving bowl. It’s best to use rice that’s warm but not piping hot, as excessively hot rice can slightly soften the crispness of the radish kimchi.

Step 4

Arrange the prepared toppings over the rice. Generously add the chopped radish kimchi solids on top. Next, add 2 tablespoons of stir-fried gochujang for a savory and slightly spicy kick. You can increase the amount or add chopped chili peppers if you prefer it spicier.

Step 5

Carefully place the fried egg on top of the rice. Finish by drizzling a generous amount of fragrant sesame oil over everything. The nutty aroma of the sesame oil will elevate the overall flavor profile of your bibimbap.

Step 6

Finally, sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds or ground sesame seeds for an extra layer of nutty flavor and visual appeal. Your bibimbap is now complete! Mix all the ingredients together with a spoon or chopsticks and enjoy. The delightful crunch of the radish kimchi, the creamy egg, and the spicy-sweet gochujang create a truly wonderful taste sensation!
