Homemade Grape Ade: Fermented Grape Juice Recipe
Authentic Fermented Grape Juice # Grape Ade
Learn how to make pure, concentrated grape juice from scratch. This recipe guides you through creating a natural fermented grape juice base, perfect for a refreshing grape ade.
Ingredients for Grape Syrup- Fresh Grapes (seedless variety recommended)
- Granulated Sugar (or white sugar)
- Sparkling Water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the grapes thoroughly. In a clean glass jar or container, layer the grapes and granulated sugar alternately. A ratio of 1:1 grapes to sugar is generally good. Ensure the top layer is sugar.
Step 2
Cover the jar loosely with a lid, or use plastic wrap secured with a rubber band. Wrap the entire jar in a dark cloth or bag to block out light and store it in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
Step 3
After about 2-3 days, you’ll notice the sugar starting to dissolve. Gently press the grapes with a clean spoon to help the sugar melt further and encourage the grapes to release their juice. Be careful not to crush them too much.
Step 4
After approximately 10 days of fermentation, when the grapes appear wrinkled and have released ample juice, use a small ladle or a similar tool to gently press the grapes once more. This helps extract any remaining juice, resulting in a richer and more concentrated grape juice base.
Step 5
Your concentrated fermented grape juice base is now ready! Store it in the refrigerator. Enjoy the deep, natural flavor of the grapes enhanced by fermentation.
Step 6
< Making Grape Ade > Pour your desired amount of the concentrated grape juice into a glass. Top it off with chilled sparkling water. A good starting ratio is about 1 part grape juice to 2 or 3 parts sparkling water, adjust to your preference.
Step 7
Add ice cubes and serve immediately. Enjoy your simple, refreshing homemade grape ade!
