Ingredients

  • 100ml Milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 5 Slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard Sauce
  • A pinch of Parmesan Cheese (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, finely mince the garlic and set it aside. If you don’t have Parmesan cheese, you can omit it. Alternatively, a small pinch of salt can be added for seasoning.

Step 1

Step 2

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. As the garlic becomes aromatic, slowly pour in 100ml of milk.

Step 2

Step 3

As the milk begins to warm up, add 5 slices of cheddar cheese and stir gently until it melts completely. It’s important to stir smoothly to prevent the cheese from clumping. Adding a little Parmesan cheese at this stage will deepen the flavor, or you can add a pinch of salt if Parmesan is unavailable.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth, keep the heat on low and stir in 1 tablespoon of mustard sauce. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can add a touch of honey. (I omitted the honey as I’m not a big fan of sweets.)

Step 4

Step 5

Check the consistency of the sauce. It should be neither too thin nor too thick, with a slightly pourable, smooth texture – this is the perfect consistency for homemade nacho cheese sauce! It’s been a while since I made this, but it turned out exceptionally well.

Step 5

Step 6

Dipping crispy tortilla chips into this warm nacho cheese sauce is an absolute delight. You’ll find that one bag of tortilla chips disappears in no time when enjoyed with this sauce!

Step 6

Step 7

This nacho cheese sauce is loved by both kids and adults and makes for an excellent appetizer when entertaining guests. I only made a small batch this time, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out. Making ricotta cheese again after so long also felt very satisfying.

Step 7

Step 8

In the past, when my children were younger, they loved pizza and cheese, so I used to make this frequently. However, now that they’ve all moved out, I don’t often have the chance to make such snacks. But seeing tortilla chips instantly brought back a craving for them, prompting me to make it again after a long time.

Step 8

Step 9

This is a wonderful dish to prepare for year-end parties or Christmas gatherings to enhance the festive mood. Instead of buying expensive nacho cheese sauce, why not try making your own easily and deliciously at home? It’s surprisingly simple!
