Homemade Sweet and Nutty Sweet Potato Latte
Make a Cozy Sweet Potato Latte at Home and Enjoy a Cafe Vibe!
Sweet potatoes are a staple snack for kids in our home, and they’re so versatile – from fries to chips and candied treats, we always keep them stocked! However, sometimes we get tired of eating them, and they end up sitting around. That’s when I turn to making a delicious sweet potato latte! It’s perfect for a quick and filling meal when you don’t feel like cooking, offering both comfort and nourishment.
Ingredients- 2 medium sweet potatoes
- 700ml milk
- 2 Tbsp sugar (or to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and peel them. Steam or boil them until they are completely soft and tender. It’s easier to peel them while they are still warm after cooking.
Step 2
Place the cooked and peeled sweet potatoes into a blender. For the milk, aim for about 300-400ml per sweet potato (using a total of 700ml for two). Add the sweet potatoes and milk to the blender and blend until it’s completely smooth and creamy. Ensure there are no lumps for the best texture.
Step 3
Pour the blended sweet potato and milk mixture into a non-stick pan. Start heating it over medium heat. Once it begins to warm up, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until it’s heated through.
Step 4
Finally, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir well until dissolved. You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar, or by using honey or agave syrup to your preference. You can also adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired consistency.
Step 5
Voila! Your warm and comforting homemade sweet potato latte is ready. Pour it into your favorite mug and enjoy. For an extra touch of flavor, consider sprinkling a little cinnamon on top!
