Biscuit Dough Ingredients

  • 300g White Flour (Ourmill brand recommended)
  • 10g Vanilla Sugar (or regular sugar + a drop of vanilla extract)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 100g Butter, cold and cubed
  • 140ml Milk, cold
  • 30g Robinia Honey (or your favorite honey)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, sift together the white flour, vanilla sugar, salt, and baking powder. Sifting ensures no lumps and creates a lighter texture. Add the cold, cubed butter to the sifted dry ingredients. Using your fingertips or a pastry blender, quickly rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs or small peas. Work swiftly to prevent the butter from melting too much.

Step 2

Once the butter is incorporated, pour in the cold milk. Gently mix with a spatula until just combined and no dry flour streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough biscuits. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently pat or roll it out to about 1.5 cm (approx. 0.6 inches) thickness. Use a cookie cutter or a knife to cut out your desired shapes, placing them on a baking sheet with a little space between each. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 3

Your golden-brown, sweet, and savory honey biscuits are ready! Fresh from the oven, they offer a delightful crisp exterior and a tender interior.

Step 3

Step 4

For an extra touch of sweetness, brush a little honey over the warm biscuits. The robinia honey I used, sourced from bees near Duseungsan Mountain, imparts a wonderfully subtle and fragrant honey aroma that elevates the biscuits. They are exceptionally delicious when eaten warm. Enjoy them with a glass of milk or your favorite coffee!
