Chop Steak Ingredients- Beef Chuck Eye Steak 600g
- Red Bell Pepper 1/2
- Yellow Bell Pepper 1/2
- Onion 1/2
- Minced Garlic 2 Tbsp
- Butter 1 piece (approx. 30g)
- Steak Sauce 3 Tbsp
- Ketchup 2 Tbsp
- Oligodang (Corn Syrup) 1 Tbsp
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, lightly pat the beef chuck eye steak dry with paper towels. Then, place it on a cutting board and cut it into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3cm. Cutting it too small can cause the juices to escape during cooking, so be mindful of the size.
Step 2
Place the cut beef in a bowl. Season generously with salt and pepper and mix well with your hands. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes; this will help tenderize the meat. If you have time, marinating for over an hour is even better.
Step 3
While the beef is marinating, wash the bell peppers and onion, remove the seeds from the peppers, and cut them into large pieces, similar in size to the beef. We want to maintain a nice, crisp texture.
Step 4
To enhance the flavor of your chop steak, prepare the sauce mixture beforehand. In a bowl, combine the steak sauce, ketchup, and oligodang, and mix them well.
Step 5
Melt one piece of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; bringing out its aroma gently is key.
Step 6
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the marinated beef to the pan and sear over high heat. The goal is to quickly brown the outside of the meat to seal in the juices.
Step 7
When the beef is mostly browned on the outside, add the prepared bell peppers and onion to the pan and stir-fry together. Cook just until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp; avoid overcooking.
Step 8
Once the meat and vegetables are cooked to your liking and some delicious juices have accumulated in the pan, pour in the prepared sauce mixture. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the sauce to coat everything evenly. The sauce will thicken and give the meat a beautiful glaze.
Step 9
Your delicious homemade chop steak is now ready! Serve it beautifully on a plate while hot, and your whole family will surely praise this wonderful dish. It’s perfect as a side dish or an impressive main course. Enjoy your meal!
