Pizza Ingredients

  • Beef (for Bulgogi) 300g
  • Tortillas 4 sheets
  • Store-bought Spaghetti Sauce (or Tomato Sauce) generously
  • Onion 1/2 medium
  • Canned Corn Kernels 2-3 Tbsp
  • Mozzarella Cheese plenty (to taste)

Bulgogi Marinade

  • Soy Sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Sugar 2 Tbsp
  • Minced Garlic 1 Tbsp (or 2 garlic cubes)
  • Black Pepper a pinch
  • Cooking Wine (Mirin or similar) 1 Tbsp

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the bulgogi, which is the star of your pizza. You’ll need about 300g of beef. Thinly sliced beef for bulgogi or shabu-shabu works best as it absorbs the marinade well and cooks quickly.

Step 1

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the marinated beef with the bulgogi marinade ingredients: 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp minced garlic (or 2 garlic cubes), a pinch of black pepper, and 1 Tbsp cooking wine. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes for deeper flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it’s almost fully cooked through and no longer pink. Be careful not to burn it. The juices released during cooking will add extra flavor to the pizza.

Step 3

Step 4

Finely chop or thinly slice half an onion for added texture and flavor. If you prefer a milder onion taste, soak the chopped onion in cold water for about 5 minutes, then drain thoroughly. This step reduces its sharp flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Drain the canned corn kernels thoroughly using a sieve. Excess water can make the pizza soggy, so pat them dry with a paper towel for best results.

Step 5

Step 6

Place a tortilla on an oven-safe pan or directly in your air fryer basket. Spread a generous layer of spaghetti sauce (or tomato sauce) over the tortilla, leaving about a 1cm border around the edge. Avoid using too much sauce, as it can make the pizza too salty.

Step 6

Step 7

Evenly sprinkle the prepared onion slices and drained corn kernels over the sauce. Distribute them uniformly so that every bite gets a bit of each topping.

Step 7

Step 8

Carefully arrange the cooked bulgogi over the vegetables. Make sure to spread the bulgogi evenly across the pizza to ensure consistent flavor in every slice.

Step 8

Step 9

Now for the best part – the cheese! Generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the bulgogi and other toppings. The cheese will melt and bind everything together beautifully, adding a rich, gooey texture. For an extra touch, sprinkle some dried parsley on top for color and aroma.

Step 9

Step 10

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and bake the pizza for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown, and the tortilla edges are crispy. If you don’t have an oven, you can cook it in a frying pan over very low heat with a lid on for 10-15 minutes, checking periodically to prevent burning.

Step 10

Step 11

Here’s a fun variation for kids! Instead of spaghetti sauce, spread a thin layer of honey or maple syrup on the tortilla. Then, add the toppings as usual and bake. This creates a delicious sweet bulgogi pizza that kids absolutely love! Feel free to add other toppings like fruits if you like.
