Learn how to make delicious KFC-style biscuits at home with this easy recipe. These biscuits are perfect for a simple snack or as a base for creative toppings and variations.
Basic Ingredients- 2 cups Bisquick mix
- 3/4 cup cold milk (approx. 180ml)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for richness)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, place 2 cups of Bisquick mix. Make a small well in the center and pour in 3/4 cup of cold milk. (Adjust the amount of milk as needed to achieve the right dough consistency.)
Step 2
Using a spatula or fork, gently mix the ingredients until just combined and no dry streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough biscuits. The dough should be shaggy. (For extra tenderness and flavor, you can mix in 2 tablespoons of melted butter at this stage.)
Step 3
Line a baking sheet or baking pan with parchment paper. Use a spoon to scoop portions of the dough and place them onto the prepared sheet, forming them into your desired biscuit shape. Aim for a slightly thicker biscuit rather than flat.
Step 4
If you find plain biscuits a bit too simple, this is where you can get creative! Sprinkle crushed cereal, chopped pine nuts, other nuts, or chocolate chips over the dough for extra crunch and flavor. This transforms them into delicious, textured treats.
Step 5
For a unique twist, try topping the biscuit dough with a small dollop onto macaron shells before baking. The contrast between the flaky, tender biscuit and the sweet, crisp macaron shell creates a delightful combination.
Step 6
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 12-15 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits are golden brown. Once removed from the oven, dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder, if desired, for an extra touch of sweetness and visual appeal.
