Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Today, I’ll share a recipe for ‘Tortilla Pizza’ that anyone can make easily and quickly at home. It’s perfect for a kids’ snack, and also a wonderful option to serve when unexpected guests arrive. You can make it with just an air fryer!

Step 2

First, prepare the vegetables and ham for your pizza toppings. Thinly slice the red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and onion. Dice the ham into bite-sized pieces. If you’re adding shrimp, thoroughly clean them, remove any hard tails or tough parts around the neck, and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. If you’re using meat instead of ham, lightly sauté it in a pan before using. Blanching the ham in boiling water briefly can remove excess grease and make it taste cleaner.

Step 3

Now, let’s get ready to assemble the pizza. Take a whole wheat tortilla. (Personally, I prefer whole wheat tortillas because they’re softer and have a nuttier flavor. If you don’t have them, regular tortillas work just fine.) Spread the tomato spaghetti sauce evenly over the tortilla using a spoon. Leave about a 1cm border around the edge to prevent the sauce from spilling over.

Step 4

Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese over the sauce. The reason for adding cheese first is that it helps to anchor the vegetables and other toppings as they melt, binding everything together and preventing the ingredients from sliding off.

Step 5

Next, arrange the colorful bell peppers, diced ham, and shrimp (if using) attractively over the cheese. Try to distribute them evenly across the pizza. Finally, for a richer and more appealing look, generously sprinkle more mozzarella cheese all over the top! More cheese is always better!

Step 6

Once all the toppings are in place, it’s time to cook it in the air fryer. Set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and cook for about 7 minutes. This time might vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the tortilla, so it’s a good idea to check on it midway. If you prefer a crispier pizza, you can cook it for an additional 2-3 minutes. It’s incredibly convenient – just add toppings and bake!

Step 7

When the pizza is done, finish it off with a light sprinkle of aromatic parsley flakes. This beautifully finished tortilla pizza will boast a visual appeal and taste that rivals store-bought pizzas. Enjoy this delicious tortilla pizza that both kids and adults will love!
