  • Difficulty : Beginner

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (thickness can be adjusted to preference)
  • 3 fresh eggs
  • 20g butter (about 1.5 tablespoons)
  • Cooking oil, as needed (for greasing the pan)
  • Strawberry jam or your preferred jam, generously

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

For making 2 slices of toast, crack 3 eggs into a clean bowl. Whisk them together gently with a whisk until the yolks and whites are well combined. (This makes approximately 2 servings).

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare your jam! This could be homemade strawberry jam made by parents, or any store-bought jam like strawberry, grape, or blueberry – whatever your child prefers!

Step 2

Step 3

Lightly grease a heated pan with a small amount of cooking oil. Pour only half of the beaten egg mixture into the pan to create a thin egg omelet. Aim for a size that roughly matches your bread slices for easier assembly later.

Step 3

Step 4

Carefully slide the cooked egg omelet from the pan onto a plate and set it aside for now. The remaining egg mixture will be used in the next steps.

Step 4

Step 5

In the same pan where you cooked the egg, add 20g of butter and let it melt over medium-low heat. Be careful not to burn the butter as it melts and coats the pan.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the butter is melted, place the bread slices into the pan. Toast them on both sides until they are golden brown and delightfully crispy. This creates the perfect base for your toast!

Step 6

Step 7

Place one slice of the toasted bread onto a clean plate or cutting board. This will be the bottom layer of your toast.

Step 7

Step 8

Spread a generous amount of your chosen jam (strawberry or other preferred jam) evenly over the surface of the toast, reaching close to the edges. More jam means more deliciousness!

Step 8

Step 9

Fold the pre-cooked egg omelet in half to fit the size of the bread and carefully place it on top of the jam. You can also cut the omelet into smaller pieces if that’s easier for your child to handle.

Step 9

Step 10

Finally, place the second slice of toasted bread on top to complete your super simple, sweet, and crispy toast! It’s incredibly easy, yet children absolutely love this delightful treat.
