  • 4 Korean Green Peppers (Ggwari-gochu)
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (approx. 30g)
  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (approx. 30ml)
  • 1 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking sake) (approx. 15ml)
  • 1.5 Tbsp Oligodang (or corn syrup/honey) (approx. 22ml)
  • A pinch of black pepper (to taste)

Cooking Instructions

First, thoroughly wash the King Oyster Mushrooms. Trim off the very ends and cut each mushroom into three equal pieces. Avoid slicing them too thinly to maintain a pleasant chewy texture.

Next, lightly score the top surface (the wider side) of each mushroom piece with a cross pattern using a knife. These scores will help the sauce penetrate better and make the mushrooms look appealing as they cook.

In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients: 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp mirin, 1.5 Tbsp oligodang, and a pinch of black pepper. Whisk everything together until well combined to create your flavorful sauce.
