Main Ingredients

  • Frozen shrimp (larger sizes are preferable)
  • Mussels (shelled)
  • Spaghetti for 2 servings (approx. 200g)
  • 2 jars of store-bought spaghetti sauce (approx. 800g)
  • 2 cans of whole peeled tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your large shrimp. In a pan, melt 2 Tbsp of butter over low heat and sauté 1 Tbsp of minced garlic until fragrant. Add 50ml of water and the mussel broth (or broth from cooking fresh mussels) to create a base for your seafood broth. This broth will add depth of flavor to your spaghetti sauce.

Step 1

Step 2

Once the broth begins to simmer, add the prepared shrimp and cook until they are about 80% done. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the shrimp tough. Remove the cooked shrimp and set them aside.

Step 2

Step 3

To the broth used for cooking the shrimp, add 2 jars of your favorite store-bought spaghetti sauce and 2 cans of finely chopped whole peeled tomatoes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring gently to combine. The fresh tomatoes will enrich the sauce further.

Step 3

Step 4

Cook your spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta lightly and add it directly to the simmering sauce. Gently toss the spaghetti to coat it evenly with the sauce. For best results, add a pinch of salt and a little olive oil to the boiling water when cooking the pasta.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, add the cooked shrimp and shelled mussels back into the sauce with the pasta. Stir gently to combine everything, and let it simmer for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the seafood flavors to meld beautifully with the sauce.

Step 5

Step 6

Turn off the heat promptly. Continuing to cook can overcook the seafood and affect its texture.

Step 6

Step 7

Carefully plate the perfectly cooked spaghetti. Twirling the pasta strands as you plate will make for a more appealing presentation.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, generously spoon the abundant seafood and rich sauce over the pasta. Your delicious and visually appealing seafood spaghetti is ready!

Step 9

Although made in a flash, the taste is absolutely superb, rivaling that of a fine restaurant! Enjoy this simple yet incredibly flavorful homemade seafood spaghetti tonight!
