  • Onion 70g
  • Green Bell Pepper 30g
  • Red Bell Pepper 30g
  • Green Onion 25g
  • Minced Garlic 20g
  • Cooking Oil 20g
  • Sesame Oil 10g
  • Dried Bird’s Eye Chilies 5g
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the vegetables. Slice the green onion lengthwise in half, then chop them into small, bite-sized pieces. Cut the onion and bell peppers into strips, then dice them into small, 0.5cm cubes. Feel free to add other ingredients you enjoy, such as mushrooms or even a fried egg on top for extra richness!

Step 1

Step 2

Drain excess water from the tofu by gently pressing it with paper towels. Then, dice the tofu into approximately 1.5cm cubes. Removing the water helps the tofu hold its shape better during cooking and prevents it from breaking apart.

Step 2

Step 3

Boil the corn noodles in water for about 5 minutes, or until al dente. Once cooked, drain the noodles and immediately rinse them under cold running water. This step helps to prevent the noodles from becoming mushy and keeps them delightfully chewy and firm.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then, add the chopped green onions and diced onions, and stir-fry until the onions begin to turn translucent.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the onions are slightly softened and translucent, add the ground pork to the pan. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Break up the pork with your spatula and cook until it’s no longer pink.

Step 5

Step 6

When the pork is mostly cooked through, add the diced bell peppers, dried bird’s eye chilies, and the prepared tofu to the pan. Stir everything together gently.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, add the Hao Chi Mala Sauce (90g). Stir-fry the mixture well, ensuring the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients. You can adjust the amount of mala sauce to your personal preference for spice and numbing sensation. Don’t hesitate to add more if you love it extra spicy!

Step 7

Step 8

Drizzle in the sesame oil (10g) for an extra layer of nutty aroma and flavor. This step adds a wonderful richness that complements the spicy mala sauce.

Step 8

Step 9

To serve, place the cooked corn noodles in a bowl and generously top with the flavorful mala tofu mixture. For an even more integrated flavor, you can also toss the noodles directly into the pan with the tofu and sauce. Enjoy your delicious homemade Mala Tofu Noodles!
