Melt-in-Your-Mouth Beef Boiled Meat (Suyuk)
How to Make Tender and Flavorful Beef Suyuk
Traditionally, suyuk is made with pork, but I used the beef sent by my siblings to create this delicious boiled beef dish. Let me guide you through making this incredibly tender and aromatic beef suyuk.
Ingredients- 300g beef shank (for boiling)
- 1 large green onion
- A few green onion roots
- 5 cups water (approx. 1000ml)
- 1 handful of chives
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a pressure cooker, combine the washed beef shank, 5 cups of water, the whole green onion, and the green onion roots. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once the pressure cooker starts whistling (‘chika chika’ sound), reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 30 minutes. This slow cooking process ensures the beef becomes incredibly tender and juicy.
Step 2
Once the beef is tender, let it cool slightly. Then, slice it into bite-sized pieces and arrange them attractively on a serving plate. In the center of the plate, add a generous bundle of fresh chives for a touch of color and freshness.
Step 3
Finally, ladle some of the warm broth from the pressure cooker over the sliced beef. This adds moisture and enhances the tenderness. Sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds over the top for a delightful aroma and visual appeal. Your exquisite beef suyuk is now ready!
Step 4
Serve this succulent beef suyuk with a sweet and tangy soy sauce dipping sauce. The combination of the tender beef and the zesty sauce creates a perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying flavor experience.
