Melted Butter Baked Persimmon Delight
Super Simple Camping Cooking at Home: Delicious Baked Persimmon with Butter Recipe
I remember how delicious persimmons tasted when wrapped in foil and grilled over charcoal during camping trips. So, I decided to try baking them at home! Roasting intensifies the natural sweetness, and the butter melts into the fruit, creating an incredibly rich and delightful flavor. I highly recommend this treat.
Ingredients- 1 ripe persimmon
- 1 Tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
I recall the delicious memory of foil-wrapped persimmons grilled over charcoal during camping trips, and now I’m going to recreate that delightful experience at home with a special baked persimmon dish.
Step 2
When persimmons are ripe, they should feel slightly soft to the touch. This indicates they are perfectly ready to be baked for maximum sweetness.
Step 3
The deep, natural sweetness of the persimmon, combined with the savory richness of butter, creates a phenomenal ‘sweet and salty’ harmony. This recipe is a must-try, adding a touch of camping romance to your meal.
Step 4
First, wash the persimmon thoroughly under running water. Then, carefully cut off the stem part with a knife. This step makes it easier to score the fruit later on.
Step 5
Using your knife, make deep cuts in a cross shape (+) from the top of the persimmon. Be careful to only cut into the flesh, not all the way through the skin. Keeping the skin intact is crucial for holding the shape as it bakes.
Step 6
As you can see, the cuts should be deep into the flesh but not pierce the skin. The skin should remain attached to hold everything together. Just score the flesh lightly.
Step 7
Place the prepared persimmon into an oven-safe dish or a heatproof container. This makes handling it in the oven or air fryer much more convenient.
Step 8
Now, preheat your oven or air fryer, and then place the persimmon inside to bake. Adjust the temperature and time according to your appliance’s performance.
Step 9
For this recipe, I used a mini toaster oven, which is very convenient. You can achieve delicious results even with smaller appliances.
Step 10
Bake for about 10 minutes. You’ll notice the cuts start to open up slightly, and the persimmon will turn a beautiful golden brown. The sweet aroma of the fruit will begin to fill your kitchen.
Step 11
Once the persimmon is nicely baked, place 1 tablespoon of butter on top. The butter will start to melt slowly from the heat.
Step 12
Return it to the toaster oven or oven for a very short time, about 20 more seconds. This allows the butter to melt completely and seep into the persimmon, adding a wonderful gloss and flavor.
Step 13
The rich, savory flavor of the butter combined with the intense sweetness of the persimmon creates an irresistible ‘sweet and salty’ dessert! It’s as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to eat, making it perfect for the whole family. Enjoy baking and sharing this treat with your children!
