Microwave Sunny-Side Up Egg: A Super Simple Recipe Ready in 30 Seconds
Cooking Hack! How to Make Perfect Sunny-Side Up Eggs in the Microwave in Just 30 Seconds
Today, I’ll share a super convenient cooking tip using your microwave: how to make sunny-side up eggs! You can easily make fried eggs without needing a pan and oil. It’s a quick and easy method perfect for busy mornings or a simple snack.
Ingredients- 1 fresh egg
- 1 pinch of salt (to taste)
- A little sesame oil or cooking oil (for coating)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, grab a microwave-safe plate that has a slight indentation. Lightly coat the inside of the plate with sesame oil or cooking oil. This prevents the egg from sticking and makes cleanup much easier.
Step 2
Carefully place 1 egg onto the prepared plate. Be gentle to avoid breaking the yolk. If the eggshell has any dirt, wipe it clean before using.
Step 3
Using a fork, gently prick the yolk 2-3 times. Be careful not to pierce it too deeply or break the yolk completely. This small puncture helps the egg cook evenly and prevents the yolk from bursting dramatically.
Step 4
Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the egg for seasoning. You can adjust the amount of salt to your preference. A tiny bit of soy sauce or pepper can also add extra flavor.
Step 5
Cover the plate with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap. (If using plastic wrap, poke a few small holes for steam to escape.) Microwave on high for 30 seconds. For a perfect runny yolk, 30 seconds is usually ideal. You can adjust the cooking time slightly if you prefer your egg more or less cooked.
Step 6
Voila! Your perfectly cooked microwave sunny-side up egg is ready in just 30 seconds. Place it on a warm bowl of rice for a simple meal or use it as a topping for salads. Isn’t it amazing how you can make such a perfect runny egg without a frying pan?
