Essential Ingredients

  • 1 packet Ottogi Kids’ Curry (90g)
  • 100g ground or finely chopped beef
  • 1/2 medium onion (approx. 50g)
  • 1/2 medium potato (approx. 50g)
  • 1/5 medium carrot (approx. 20g)
  • 200ml water
  • A little cooking oil (about 1/2 tsp)

Optional Ingredients (For Extra Flavor)

  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese
  • A little dried seaweed (gim), crumbled or chopped for garnish
  • A small piece of dried kelp (kombu) for broth (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Finely dice all vegetables and beef into bite-sized pieces, about 0.5-1cm. Peel and wash the carrot, potato, and onion, then dice them. Trim any excess fat from the beef before finely chopping it.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pot over medium-low heat with a touch of cooking oil. Add the diced carrots, potatoes, and onions, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onions become translucent and fragrant. Then, add the beef and cook until it’s browned on the outside.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the vegetables and beef are lightly sautéed, pour in 200ml of water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the potatoes and carrots are tender when pierced with a fork. Dissolve the curry powder in a little water to prevent lumps, or add it directly to the pot while stirring continuously. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the curry reaches your desired thick consistency. (Adjust the curry thickness to your preference.)

Step 3

Step 4

Shape the cooked rice into cute balls. Serve the finished curry attractively on a plate, accompanied by the rice balls. You can add a slice of cheddar cheese on top, or garnish with crumbled dried seaweed (gim) or a small piece of dried kelp for an extra touch. Make mealtime even more enjoyable with cute plating that your children will love!
