Basic Ingredients- 200g All-purpose flour
- 110g Warm water
- 160g Oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 52g Vegetable oil
- 50g Sugar
- 5g Baking powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, pour 52g of vegetable oil into a large bowl. You can use any neutral-flavored vegetable oil, such as grapeseed or canola oil.

Next, add 160g of oligosaccharide for sweetness and mix it in. Oligosaccharide helps keep the cake moist.

Add an additional 50g of sugar. Prepare 110g of warm water by heating it in the microwave for about 1 minute until lukewarm. Pour this warmed water into the bowl and stir until the sugar and oligosaccharide are completely dissolved and no lumps remain (approximately 1 minute).

Sift 200g of all-purpose flour and 5g of baking powder into the wet ingredients in two additions, mixing gently after each. It’s crucial not to overmix; overmixing can develop gluten and result in a tough cake. Stir just until no dry flour streaks are visible. Break up any large lumps of flour so they are fully incorporated.

Grease your pound cake pan thoroughly with oil or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Ensure all sides of the pan are well-greased.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. After pouring, gently tap the pan on the counter 2-3 times to release any large air bubbles. This step helps create a smoother cake surface.
