Main Ingredients

  • Ready-to-use seasoned fried tofu pouches (Inari sushi size) for 2 servings
  • 2 bowls of cooked rice (warm)

Vegetable Mix

  • 1/2 stalk of green onion (finely chopped, white part preferred)
  • 1/4 onion (very finely chopped)
  • 1/4 carrot (very finely chopped)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the ready-to-use fried tofu pouches that usually come with an Inari sushi kit. Wash all the vegetables thoroughly, pat them dry, and then finely chop them. It’s best to chop the onion and carrot very small, about the size of a grain of rice, for a pleasant texture. For the green onion, focus on chopping the white parts.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat with a little cooking oil. Add the finely chopped onion and carrot and sauté until they become translucent. Stir in 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to enhance the aroma. Season lightly with salt. Finally, add the chopped green onion and sauté for about 1 more minute. You’ll notice a sweet and savory aroma as the vegetables cook.

Step 2

Step 3

Add the two bowls of warm cooked rice to the sautéed vegetable mixture. Using a spatula, gently mix and stir-fry the rice with the vegetables until well combined. Be careful not to mash the rice grains; gently break them apart as you stir-fry. Now, add the rice seasoning powder and the sushi vinegar sauce from the Inari sushi kit. Sprinkle a generous amount of sesame seeds on top. Continue to stir-fry everything together until the rice is evenly seasoned and looks glossy. This step ensures all the flavors meld together perfectly!

Step 3

Step 4

Now for the final and most fun part – assembling the Inari sushi! Carefully open each fried tofu pouch. Spoon a good amount of the seasoned rice mixture into each pouch. Gently shape the rice with your hands, filling the pouch without overstuffing. Carefully fold the edges of the tofu pouch to enclose the rice neatly, creating a beautiful Inari sushi. Make them bite-sized for easy enjoyment!
