Main Ingredients

  • 8 Tteokbokki rice cakes
  • 8 Cheese Vienna sausages

Special Sauce

  • Honey mustard sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Fill a pot with plenty of water and bring it to a rolling boil. This water will be used to blanch the rice cakes and sausages.

Step 2

Once the water is boiling, add the tteokbokki rice cakes and cheese Vienna sausages. Blanch them for about 1 minute. This step makes the rice cakes chewier and warms up the sausages.

Step 3

Drain the blanched rice cakes and sausages thoroughly using a sieve. Ensure no excess water remains, as it can cause oil to splatter when frying.

Step 4

Thread the prepared rice cakes and sausages onto skewers, alternating between them. A pattern like rice cake-sausage-rice cake-sausage looks appealing and is easy to eat.

Step 5

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Place the skewered Sotteok Sotteok onto the pan and grill gently. Cook until golden brown on all sides, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.

Step 6

Arrange the perfectly grilled Sotteok Sotteok on a plate. Drizzle with honey mustard, ketchup, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese according to your preference! Kids might prefer just ketchup, while adults can enjoy it with honey mustard and Parmesan for an extra layer of flavor.
