Main Ingredients- 15 Vienna sausages
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1/4 onion
- 7 cloves garlic
- 3 Tbsp water
Seasoning Ingredients- 4 Tbsp ketchup
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or similar)
- 1/3 tsp ginger powder
- 4 Tbsp ketchup
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or similar)
- 1/3 tsp ginger powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables. Dice the onion and green bell pepper into approximately 2cm x 2cm cubes. Slice the garlic thinly.
Step 2
Make diagonal scores on both sides of the Vienna sausages. This will help them open up attractively as they cook and look more appetizing.
Step 3
The secret to a delicious stir-fry! Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and mix them well with a spoon. Prepare the sauce in advance so you can easily add it all at once later.
Step 4
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, tilt it to gather the oil to one side, then add the sliced garlic. Fry the garlic until it turns golden brown, infusing the oil with its aroma. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 5
When the garlic is fragrant and golden, add the diced onion and stir-fry until it begins to turn translucent. Once the onion is partially cooked, add the Vienna sausages. Continue to stir-fry until the scored sausages start to open up and their surface is lightly browned.
Step 6
Once the sausages are nicely browned, add the diced green bell pepper and stir-fry quickly over high heat for about 30 seconds. It’s important to keep the bell pepper crisp, so avoid overcooking.
Step 7
After the bell pepper is lightly coated with oil from stir-frying, reduce the heat to low. Pour in the prepared sauce mixture and stir-fry for about 1 minute, allowing the sauce to coat all the ingredients evenly. Adjust the heat to prevent the sauce from burning.
Step 8
Transfer the finished Sausage and Vegetable Stir-fry to a serving dish. For an extra touch, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top. Enjoy your delicious, nostalgic Sausage and Vegetable Stir-fry!
