Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, crack the egg and whisk it well. Then, add the melted butter and milk, and mix until smooth without lumps. For an even smoother batter, you can sift the hotcake mix into the bowl. Gently mix just until the flour is incorporated and no dry streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the waffles tough!
Step 2
Preheat your waffle maker and lightly brush the surface with cooking oil to prevent sticking. Pour the prepared batter into the waffle maker (adjust the amount based on your waffle maker’s size) and close the lid. Cook on medium-low heat for about 4 minutes. Then, carefully flip the waffle maker and cook the other side for another 4 minutes. This ensures the waffle is golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Step 3
Place the perfectly cooked waffles on a plate. Now, generously add your desired toppings to create delicious street-style waffles! Spread a good amount of sweet apple jam, top with fluffy whipped cream, and sprinkle with crunchy nuts or sweet chocolate syrup for an extra decadent treat. It’s best enjoyed immediately while still warm!
