Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gather all the ingredients for your delicious Misugaru Latte. Feel free to adjust the proportions of each powder to your liking.
Step 2
I’m using a base of Misugaru along with black bean powder, black sesame powder, and yam powder, making a total of four grain powders. You can customize this with any Misugaru variety you have or prefer. (e.g., brown rice powder, barley powder, etc.)
Step 3
In a bowl or mixing bowl, combine all the prepared grain powders: Misugaru, black bean powder, black sesame powder, and yam powder.
Step 4
Add 2 pinches of salt at this stage. The salt helps to enhance the sweetness, enriching the overall flavor profile of your Misugaru Latte. It adds a wonderful depth.
Step 5
Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey for a touch of sweetness. You can substitute honey with sugar or corn syrup, and adjust the sweetness level according to your preference.
Step 6
Pour about 100ml of the cold milk (out of the total 300ml) into the bowl with the powders. This helps to dissolve the powders smoothly without clumping.
Step 7
Using a whisk or a spoon, gently mix until the powders are fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. It’s important to ensure there are no lumps for a creamy texture. (You can also sift the powders before mixing for an even smoother result.)
Step 8
Now, prepare a clear pitcher or a nice glass for your latte. Fill the container generously with ice cubes. The ice will keep the drink refreshingly cold and add a lovely chill.
Step 9
Slowly pour the remaining 200ml of cold milk over the ice. You can adjust the amount of milk based on how milky you prefer your latte.
Step 10
Finally, carefully pour the Misugaru mixture you prepared earlier along the side of the glass, over the ice and milk. This technique creates a beautiful layered effect.
Step 11
Wow! A gorgeous gradient has been created, making it visually appealing. The layered effect looks just like a sophisticated cafe drink!
Step 12
Before drinking, stir everything together well. Enjoy your delicious, aromatic, and wholesome Misugaru Latte. It’s the perfect healthy and refreshing treat for a hot summer day!
