Main Ingredients

  • 10g dried anchovies (small)
  • 5g onion
  • 10g napa cabbage leaves
  • 50g cooked rice (freshly cooked and warm)

Seasoning

  • A little sesame oil (for finishing)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, it’s important to reduce the saltiness of the anchovies. Soak the dried anchovies in cold water for about 10 minutes to slightly remove the salt. Rinse them lightly under running water and drain well.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the napa cabbage leaves thoroughly, pat them dry, and then finely shred or mince them so they are easy for your baby to eat. Peel the onion and finely mince it to a similar size as the cabbage. Finely chopping the vegetables will help your baby chew and swallow more easily.

Step 2

Step 3

In a baby food bowl, place 50g of freshly cooked warm rice. Add the finely minced napa cabbage and onion, followed by the prepared anchovies. Gently stir everything together so the ingredients are well combined.

Step 3

Step 4

Now it’s time to cook using a steamer or steam function. Place the baby food bowl inside a steaming container, cover it, and steam for about 15 minutes. It’s crucial to steam until the rice grains are soft and spread out, and the vegetables and anchovies are fully cooked.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the steaming is complete, carefully remove the bowl and let it cool slightly. While still warm, add a tiny drop of sesame oil and gently mix it in. The nutty aroma of the sesame oil will stimulate your baby’s appetite. Before serving, always check that the temperature is safe for your baby to consume.
