Nutritious Natto Bibimbap for Babies
| Natto Bibimbap | Nutritious & Low-Salt for Toddlers
Our baby, who is just shy of 13 months old, has been getting acquainted with natto for the past couple of days. Natto is packed with protein, comparable to beef, and is known to aid blood circulation, relieve constipation, promote bone health, and improve sleep. This bibimbap is a delicious way to introduce these benefits to your little one.
Ingredients- Natto: 20-30g (recommend baby-friendly or mild flavor)
- Egg: 1
- Seaweed: 1 sheet (unsalted roasted seaweed)
- Cooking oil: a small amount (for greasing the pan)
- Cooked rice: 1 serving (for baby)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Lightly grease a non-stick pan with a tiny bit of cooking oil, then wipe it with a paper towel to create a thin coating. Crack the egg into the pan over medium-low heat. Use chopsticks to quickly scramble the egg, breaking it into small, bite-sized pieces suitable for your baby.
Step 2
Take the natto out of its container. Using chopsticks, stir the natto from the center outwards, incorporating air as if you’re fluffing rice. Continue stirring for about 30-50 times until it becomes sticky and frothy. This helps release its beneficial enzymes. (If your baby is new to natto, you can stir it less vigorously initially.)
Step 3
In a bowl, place the warm cooked rice. Top the rice with the freshly made scrambled eggs. Add the natto alongside the rice. Finally, crumble the sheet of seaweed into small pieces and sprinkle it over the top. Gently help your baby mix everything together to enjoy.
