Ingredients

  • Hotcake mix 100g
  • 1 Egg
  • Milk (for batter consistency)
  • Chopped nuts (e.g., crushed peanuts or your favorite nuts)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine about 100g of hotcake mix and 1 egg. Gradually add milk while mixing until you achieve the desired batter consistency. It’s best to add milk little by little to avoid making the batter too thin.

Step 1

Step 2

Mix the ingredients gently with a spatula or whisk until just combined; avoid overmixing. The batter should not be too runny or too thick – it should be just right for pouring and cooking on the pan, similar to the consistency shown in the picture. This is the ideal texture for perfect pancakes.

Step 2

Step 3

Stir in your chopped nuts (crushed peanuts are highly recommended!) into the batter. Mix again gently to ensure the nuts are evenly distributed. This step will add a delightful crunch and rich nutty flavor to your pancakes.

Step 3

Step 4

Lightly grease your pan by either spraying a little cooking oil or adding a small amount of oil and then wiping it evenly with a paper towel. Heat the pan over low to medium-low heat.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the pan is warm enough, pour about one ladleful of the pancake batter onto the center of the pan. Cook over low heat without moving it, allowing the batter to spread naturally.

Step 5

Step 6

When you see many bubbles appearing on the surface of the pancake and the edges look slightly cooked, carefully flip it using a spatula. Cook the other side until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 6

Step 7

Interestingly, the second pancake you cook often turns out more evenly colored and prettier than the first one, likely due to better heat control and batter settling. As you continue making more, your pancakes will get even better!
