  • 90ml warm water (adjust as needed for dough consistency)
  • 2-3 medium sweet potatoes (cooked and mashed)
  • 2 slices processed cheese
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp ginseng honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Nut Topping

  • 1 Tbsp whole almonds
  • 1 Tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 Tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 1 Tbsp pecans
  • 1 Tbsp pistachios

For the Filling Flavoring

  • 2 Tbsp ginseng honey
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly, peel them, and microwave for about 5 minutes until tender. Mash the cooked sweet potatoes with a fork or masher until smooth. Stir in the ginseng honey to sweeten, then add the processed cheese and heavy cream. Mix well to create a smooth and flavorful sweet potato filling. Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Step 1

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour. Gradually add warm water while kneading to form a dough. The amount of water may vary depending on the flour, so adjust it to achieve a dough that is neither too sticky nor too dry. Once the dough is ready, pinch off small portions and roll them into smooth, round balls for the glutinous rice base.

Step 2

Step 3

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the prepared glutinous rice balls to the boiling water. Once they float to the surface, indicating they are cooked, immediately remove them and plunge them into a bowl of cold water to cool. This step helps to achieve a chewier texture. While the glutinous rice balls are cooling, take portions of the sweet potato filling mixture, roll them into balls, and then flatten them into discs. Place a cooled glutinous rice ball in the center of each flattened sweet potato disc and carefully wrap the sweet potato around the glutinous rice ball, shaping it into a smooth, round sweet potato-draped glutinous rice ball.

Step 3

Step 4

Prepare the nut topping. In a dry pan over low heat, lightly toast the whole almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, and pistachios until fragrant. Allow the toasted nuts to cool, then roughly chop them using a knife or pulse them briefly in a food processor. Finally, roll each completed sweet potato glutinous rice ball in the chopped nuts, ensuring an even coating. Your delicious and wholesome sweet potato glutinous rice balls are now ready to be enjoyed!
