- 69g beef (bulgogi-cut or your preferred cut)
- 9g minced garlic (approx. 1.5 tsp)
- 16g chives (a small handful)
- 30g onion (approx. 1/4 small onion)
- 61g cabbage (approx. 1/4 cup)
- 1 egg
- A little cooking oil (for stir-frying)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash all your vegetables. Slice the onion and cabbage into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 cm) and cut the chives into roughly 3-4 cm lengths. Prepping the vegetables now will make the cooking process much smoother.

Step 2
Pat the beef dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Then, cut it into pieces roughly the same length as the noodles. Cutting them too small can cause them to break apart during cooking.

Step 3
Next, add the dry ingredients from the Ottogi Iron Plate Bokki package (vegetable flakes, meat flakes, etc.) into the prepared pan. These will add flavor as you stir-fry.

Step 4
Prepare hot water for cooking the noodles. Refer to the package instructions for the amount, but it’s best to use slightly less than recommended. Too much water can make the final dish watery.

Step 5
Add about 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil to a frying pan and heat it over high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the minced garlic and stir-fry quickly until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic!

Step 6
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the sliced onion and stir-fry for about 1 minute until it becomes translucent. The sweetness from the onion will enrich the overall flavor.

Step 7
Now, add the sliced beef and stir-fry until it’s no longer pink. Cooking the beef first will add a deeper flavor to the dish.

Step 8
After the beef is cooked, add the chopped cabbage and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until it just begins to soften. Avoid overcooking to maintain a pleasant, slight crunch.

Step 9
Prepare to drain the hot water used for cooking the noodles. However, don’t drain it completely; leave about 2-3 tablespoons of liquid in the pan. This reserved liquid will help the sauce and noodles combine beautifully.

Step 10
Add the Ottogi Iron Plate Bokki noodles to the pan with the remaining liquid. Gently separate the noodles so they don’t stick together.

Step 11
Add the liquid sauce packet from the Ottogi Iron Plate Bokki. Stir well to coat the noodles evenly.

Step 12
Finally, add the oil-based seasoning packet for added richness and sheen. Stir everything together thoroughly.

Step 13
Stir-fry over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, ensuring all ingredients and the sauce are well combined. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 14
Add the chopped chives and stir briefly. Their fresh aroma will enhance the dish. Cook only for a short time so they don’t become mushy.

Step 15
Turn off the heat. The residual heat and steam will lightly cook the chives, completing your delicious stir-fried Iron Plate Bokki! All the flavors will meld together perfectly.

Step 16
Transfer the well-stir-fried Iron Plate Bokki to a serving plate. Its appetizing appearance will surely whet your appetite.

Step 17
Finally, place a freshly cooked egg (sunny-side up or fully cooked, to your preference) in the center of the noodles. This creates a more complete and delicious meal! You can also add cheese for extra indulgence.
