Our Home’s Versatile Bibimbap
Whip Up Our Special Bibimbap with Leftover Side Dishes (ft. It Varies Daily!)
Bibimbap made with the side dishes you already have at home.
Main Ingredients- 1 bowl of warm rice
- Various leftover side dishes from the refrigerator
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, take out and prepare a variety of side dishes stored in your refrigerator. Kimchi, seasoned vegetables, stir-fried dishes, braised dishes – any side dish will work well. Preparing a diverse selection will enhance the bibimbap’s flavor.
Step 2
Place one bowl of warm rice into a serving bowl, arranging it nicely. The temperature of the rice is a crucial factor for bibimbap’s taste, so keeping it warm is recommended.
Step 3
If you have braised meat or vegetables (like Jangjorim) among your prepared side dishes, drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of its soy sauce-based broth over the rice. This will imbue the rice with a subtle savory flavor and seasoning, making it even more delicious.
Step 4
Now, artfully arrange the prepared side dishes around the rice in the bowl. Considering the color and texture of each side dish will create an appetizing bibimbap. If you don’t have shredded radish salad (Musaengchae), you can add a little gochujang (red chili paste) for a spicy kick.
Step 5
Finally, drizzle 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over the bibimbap to add richness. Then, lightly crush the toasted sesame seeds between your palms and sprinkle them over the top for an aromatic finish. Mix everything together and enjoy your delicious bibimbap!
