Overnight Oats with Blueberries
Simple & Delicious Blueberry Overnight Oats Recipe
Hello there! Do you enjoy oatmeal? Today, I’m introducing an Overnight Oats recipe that even those who typically dislike oatmeal will find incredibly delicious! It’s quick to prepare the night before, making it a perfect option for breakfast, a healthy diet lunchbox, or even a satisfying snack. The combination of wholesome oats with tart and sweet blueberries and other berries is wonderfully tasty and uplifting.
Ingredients
- Rolled oats 1/2 cup (approx. 30g)
- Milk 100ml (or almond milk, soy milk, etc., as preferred)
- Plain yogurt 3 Tbsp (Greek style recommended)
- Salt 1 pinch
- Chia seeds 1 tsp
- Vanilla extract 1/4 tsp
- Allulose 1 tsp (optional, for sweetness adjustment)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, get a container ready for your overnight oats (a jar or airtight container works well). Now, add the main ingredient, rolled oats, into the container.
Step 2
Next, pour in the milk and plain yogurt over the rolled oats. If you prefer a thicker texture, using Greek yogurt is highly recommended.
Step 3
Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors, 1 teaspoon of chia seeds for fullness and nutrition, and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract for a subtle sweetness and aroma.
Step 4
If you’d like to add more sweetness to your liking, stir in about 1 teaspoon of allulose or your preferred sweetener. (You can skip this if you find the sweetness from the berries sufficient).
Step 5
Now, use a spoon or a small whisk to mix all the ingredients thoroughly, ensuring there are no clumps, especially from the chia seeds. Mix until everything is well combined.
Step 6
Once all ingredients are nicely blended, securely close the lid of the container. Sealing it tightly will prevent the oats from drying out or absorbing unwanted odors in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Place the prepared overnight oats in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight (8+ hours), to allow the oats to soften and absorb the liquid. Overnight soaking yields the best texture.
Step 8
The next morning, take out your chilled, soaked overnight oats. Now it’s time to add your favorite toppings! First, add thinly sliced banana for a smooth texture. (Optional)
Step 9
Sprinkle a portion of hemp seeds and flax seeds for added protein and healthy fats. You can also use chopped nuts if you enjoy them.
Step 10
Finally, generously top with fresh blueberries and strawberries for a burst of tartness and sweetness. Feel free to use other berries like raspberries or blackberries as well.
Step 11
Voila! Your visually appealing and delicious Blueberry Overnight Oats are ready. Enjoy your meal!
