Perfectly Cooked Pork Liver in a Rice Cooker
Easy Pork Liver Recipe Using a Rice Cooker
Cooking pork liver in a rice cooker is a fantastic way to keep it moist and prevent it from drying out. Enjoy this nutritious ingredient at home with this simple and delicious recipe!
Main Ingredients- 2 pieces Pork Liver
- 4 pinches Salt
- Generous amount of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the two pieces of pork liver, either frozen or thawed, into the inner pot of your rice cooker. Season each piece of liver with one pinch of salt (totaling 2 pinches) and a generous amount of black pepper. The pepper helps to eliminate any gamey odor. Set your rice cooker to the ‘reheat’ or ‘cook’ setting and cook for 9 minutes.
Step 2
After 9 minutes, open the lid. You’ll see that the bottom side of the pork liver is nicely cooked.
Step 3
Flip the liver pieces over so the cooked side is now at the bottom. Season again with one pinch of salt per piece (totaling 2 pinches) and add more generous black pepper. Cook for another 9 minutes using the ‘reheat’ or ‘cook’ setting on your rice cooker.
Step 4
As the liver cooks through, you’ll notice it shrinks considerably. The darker, solidified substance on the sides is coagulated blood, which is a natural part of the cooking process and nothing to worry about.
Step 5
Carefully remove the cooked pork liver from the rice cooker. Rinse off any coagulated blood under cool running water, or gently wipe it away with a paper towel. Slice the liver into your desired serving sizes.
Step 6
Serve the cooked pork liver immediately. It’s delicious dipped in ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce) or plain salt, according to your preference. This makes a wonderful side dish for rice or a tasty snack!
