Pineapple Chrysanthemum Cordial for Eye Health
A Special Healthy Tea for Middle-Aged Women Experiencing Vision Decline: Pineapple Chrysanthemum Cordial
A cup of tea specially made for my gradually dimming eyes, Pineapple Chrysanthemum Cordial, to replenish your vitamins. While safflower and calendula are also good for eye health, this healthy cup is made with readily available ingredients.
Ingredients- 1kg peeled pineapple
- 100g dried chrysanthemum flowers
- 600g white sugar
- 600ml white wine
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1kg of pineapple with the peel completely removed and 100g of dried chrysanthemum flowers. It’s best to choose fresh pineapple.
Step 2
Next, measure and prepare 600g of white sugar and 600ml of white wine. Using white sugar will result in a clean sweetness.
Step 3
Peel the prepared pineapple completely and then slice it into thin rounds about 0.5cm thick. Thicker slices may require a longer steeping time.
Step 4
Add 200g of white sugar to the sliced pineapple and mix thoroughly with your hands. Stir well until the sugar dissolves with the pineapple’s moisture, forming a syrup.
Step 5
In a pot, combine the remaining 400g of white sugar and 600ml of white wine. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture thickens slightly to create a syrup.
Step 6
Once the syrup begins to boil, add the dried chrysanthemum flowers and continue to simmer for about 5 minutes over low heat to extract their fragrance and flavor. Strain the chrysanthemum flowers to obtain the aromatic chrysanthemum syrup.
Step 7
Place the pineapple, which has been mixed with sugar, into a clean glass jar. After filling the jar with pineapple, let it rest at room temperature for about 1 hour without covering. This step softens the pineapple’s tartness and enhances its sweetness.
Step 8
Pour the hot chrysanthemum syrup, prepared earlier, over the pineapple in the jar that has been resting for 1 hour, ensuring the pineapple is submerged. Be careful not to crush the pineapple while pouring the syrup.
Step 9
Seal the jar and let it mature in a cool place away from direct sunlight for about 7 days. Your delicious Pineapple Chrysanthemum Cordial will then be ready! Enjoy it by mixing with warm water as a tea, or use it in your cooking.
